Be The Match

Blog Art-Be the Match 570x211At Children’s, everyone is getting excited about Feb. 14. Not only is it Valentine’s Day, but it’s the day the hospital hosts the Be The Match® Donor Registry Drive every year. Read this flier to learn more about how you can participate in our 22nd annual donor drive.

What is Be The Match?

Be The Match is a national organization that operates the world’s largest listing of potential bone marrow donors. The hope is the more donors that are compiled, the better chance that patients like ours needing a life-saving bone marrow or stem cell transplant will find their perfect match. You can learn more about Be The Match at marrow.org.

A quick swab of the inside of your cheek is all it takes to join the Registry.

Over the next few weeks, we will share stories and photos of our patients that have either received or are waiting to receive a life-saving bone marrow or stem cell transplant. We will host a live Q&A on Facebook on February 6 with Dr. Victor Aquino, who will answer any questions about joining the registry and donating bone marrow or stem cells.

Check our Facebook page and childrensmedmag.com daily for the latest info leading up to the Be The Match Registry drive here at Children’s on Feb. 14.

If you’ve donated before or have received a bone marrow or stem cell transplant, we’d love for you to share your story in our comment section below.
