Beads of Courage — In a Mom’s Words

Since September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, we’ve been talking a lot about the Beads of Courage Program and how it tells the story of a patient’s fight against cancer.

We wrote about 5-year-old Emily Venable’s strand of beads in an earlier post, Program Provides Enchanting Experience. Each one of her 500 beads honors another milestone: chemotherapy, doctor visits, hair loss, MRIs, trips to the ER, X-rays, etc.

In the following video Emily’s mom Kelly shares what the beads represent in her daughter’s fight with cancer.
