A Yes. Sleep gives the brain time to recover after a concussion. A common myth is that you should wake up the child every hour to check on him or her, but this will leave both the child and you tired, and often makes symptoms worse.
If you are worried about the child falling asleep, it may be best to have the young athlete checked out by your pediatrician or an ER physician, who will make sure everything is OK and can give sleep a green light.
