Children’s recently partnered with the Community Council of Greater Dallas to host a Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) application assistance event at MyChildren’s Bachman Lake. Bilingual outreach representatives were on hand to consult with 49 families and assist them with the application process for more than 80 children.
More than 117,000 children in Dallas County have no health insurance, but many are eligible for free or low-cost coverage through Medicaid or CHIP. Medicaid and CHIP coverage includes doctor visits, immunizations, hospitalizations, prescriptions, dental and vision care.
