The excitement is in the air! Can you feel it? It’s football season for the Lake Dallas Falcons! As an alumni, teacher, mother of two boys and secretary of the Lake Dallas Quarterback Club (LDQBC), I am super excited to get this season started! My varsity player is Tyler Hull, a SR wide receiver for the Falcons. I have been a part of the LDQBC for four years, and since we have a 6th grade son I will be around for many more years. The LDQBC works hard in fundraising for the football program as we are a small 4A school, and we appreciate all of the community and business involvement.
The Falcons played an awesome scrimmage last Friday night against Frisco Liberty and won 19-3. There was a positive feeling during that scrimmage as the boys started to get it together and make the plays. You could feel the team spirit building. Even those who were keeping up with the game on Twitter were getting excited from all of the spirited tweets. We are hoping for more spirit and a HUGE crowd as we play our traditional non-district pre-season game against J.J.Pearce this Thursday as a live televised home game on KTXA 21 as the “Game of the Week”‘.
Playing in New District
We have many players looking to play at the next level, so we are ready to get this season started! This season will be a special one for many of us as we have a talented and highly academic senior class of football players. This is also a new district for us, playing different schools such as Byron Nelson and Azle, which is my husband’s alma mater where he held the leading rushing yards as a running back 20 years ago.
This is also my 20th Lake Dallas High School Homecoming Reunion, so this football season is going to be a pretty cool one to look forward to and remember. Get your SWAG on, Falcons! Sacrifice Will Achieve Greatness!
