WHAT HE DOES: Performs kidney and liver transplants, many times traveling to procure the donor organ.

LIVING THE DREAM: Wanted to be a physician since high school. “I was fascinated with how the body functioned and how little we knew about some of the basic functions of the different organs.”

MOTIVATING FACTOR: “Transplants have an immediate lifesaving impact.” He is intrigued by how the immune system works and its role in transplant rejection.

IF HE COULD CHANGE ONE THING: The scarcity of organs for kids in desperate need of them.

FAMILY MAN: Spends most of his free time with his wife of 20 years, Manisha, and their two children, ages 11 and 9.
