MyChildren’s Expands Primary Care With Three New Locations

MyChildren’s is a network of pediatric primary care practices specializing in healthcare for children. Physicians are board-certified in pediatrics and affiliated with Children’s Medical Center.“Our practice is dedicated exclusively to children and their primary care – when they are sick and when they are well,” said Dr. Ray Tsai, president and medical director of MyChildren’s.

MyChildren’s practices serve as a medical home for quality care and are strategically located throughout North Texas in neighborhoods where high numbers of families have inadequate access to primary care.”

The right care in the right place at the right time

Through these MyChildren’s practices, Children’s brings its commitment to provide the right care in the right place at the right time and brings its mission to make life better for children to these North Texas communities. MyChildren’s practices accepts most insurance, including Medicaid and the state’s Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP).

According to Dr. Tsai, thousands of children go to the emergency room every year for primary care needs. By identifying the areas where most of these children are coming from, Children’s was able to establish MyChildren’s practices to bring pediatric primary care to them and alleviate emergency room overflow.

The Children’s Emergency Department is one of the busiest in the nation with more than 170,000 visits in 2012. The expansion of MyChildren’s aims to provide North Texas children access to quality primary care in convenient locations.

“In 2012, MyChildren’s saw nearly 100,000 patients,” says Dr. Tsai. “That’s 100,000 patients who did not have to go to an emergency room and were able to receive top-notch primary pediatric care right in their neighborhoods.”

MyChildren’s will host open houses with tours at each of its new locations. Special guests include, Christopher J. Durovich, President and CEO of Children’s Medical Center, Dr. Tsai, and various state and city officials:
