Thursday night we play Highland Park. This is a big game for us. We have been rivals for several years. For the last three years they were out of our district but now it is on again. We played them two years ago in Cowboy Stadium and beat them; it was a great victory for us.
Our record now is 5-0 in district; this would be a great victory for our team. I was talking to Lane Lovy and asked him a few questions about our team. I asked him why do you think our team would win Thursday? He said, “that we want it more, it is our biggest rival and the win would show who is the overall leader.”
Game Will Show What the Players Can Really Do on the Field
How he thought our team was doing. They would do good, they had some things to work on but overall they were do good. I also asked Lane what football means to him. He said, “It is a way to get away from all the pressures and to express themselves and show what they can do on the field.”
Players to look for are our quarterback Tanner Ramsey, receiver Buck Rogers, defense Rafael Gains and corner Jared Ingram.
I think this is going to be a great game. I’m proud to be a Poteet Pirate for so many years. I would like to say thank you to Mrs. Cummings, our principal, and Coach Jackson for all their support with Booster Club and with our students.
